"Oliver's Taranga Shiraz has a nose full of mocha, chocolate and coffee grounds. The mocha infuses with the dark cherry fruit in the mouth with great tannins providing a touch of grip with the lengthy finish. Quintessential McLaren Vale Shiraz.
Kalleske Moppa Shiraz is rich and flavoursome. The tannin profile is superb, fine grained but fleshy adding texture and definition. Complex and well balanced with fruit at the fore, oak in support and a very lengthy finish. An expressive Shiraz that can be enjoyed now or will cellar well in the medium to long term.
Bring out the slow cooked beef ragu, fresh crusty bread and pour yourself a glass or two! "
Heavy Hitters Shiraz Pack
Two excellent example of South Australian Shiraz. Oliver’s Taranga provides enticing Mocha and Chocolate notes while the Kalleske Moppa Shiraz show the intensity of dark cherry fruit from the Barossa. Both are overlayed with spice and integrated oak leading to a lengthy finish.
“Oliver’s Taranga is a family run property that was settled in 1841. Now being cared for by sixth generation family members, the Oliver’s are considered one of the premium sustainably certified growers in the region. So much so that they are one of the few from McLaren Vale to provide grapes to Penfold’s for the illustrious Grange.
In South Australia’s Barossa Valley, the Kalleske family have been farming and growing grapes since 1853 near the village of Greenock. They are one of the region’s leading grape growing families and part of the selected few that were chosen to provide grapes for the world renowned Penfold’s Grange. Seventh generation brothers, Troy and Tony established the winery in 2002 which is now certified as an organic and biodynamic producer.”
