Wine Notes | This Australian Shiraz pack brings together tow key regions known for producing outstanding Shiraz – Barossa and McLaren Vale. It also combines two of the longest standing family producers from each region. "Oliver’s Taranga is a family run property that was settled in 1841. It is because of this status that they are one of the few from McLaren Vale to provide grapes to Penfold’s for the illustrious Grange. In South Australia's Barossa Valley, the Kalleske family have been farming and growing grapes since 1853. They originally settled near the village of Greenock at the North West end of Barossa. The Kalleske's are one of the region’s leading grape growing families. They are also part of the selected few that were chosen to provide grapes for the world renowned Penfold’s Grange. Seventh generation brothers, Troy and Tony established the winery in 2002. Since inception the Kalleske's have always produced organic wines. They have been awarded the best certified organic and biodynamic producers in Australia. Oliver's Taranga Shiraz
A wine to savour, the Oliver's Taranga Shiraz has a nose full of mocha, chocolate and coffee grounds. The mocha infuses with the dark cherry fruit in the mouth with great tannins providing a touch of grip with the lengthy finish. Quintessential McLaren Vale Shiraz. Bring out the slow cooked beef ragu, fresh crusty bread and pour yourself a glass or two!
Kalleske Moppa Shiraz
The Moppa Shiraz is rich and flavoursome. The tannin profile is superb, fine grained but fleshy adding texture and definition. Complex and well balanced with fruit at the fore, oak in support and a very lengthy finish. An expressive Shiraz that can be enjoyed now or will cellar well in the medium to long term. Prime rib and a glass of Moppa, what else is there.
