Oliver’s Taranga
Oliver’s Taranga is a family run property that was settled in 1841. Shortly after came the first plantings on the property. Now being cared for by sixth generation family members, the Oliver’s are considered one of the premium sustainably certified growers in the region. So much so that they are one of the few from McLaren Vale to provide grapes to Penfold’s. It is these grapes the constitute part for the illustrious Grange Shiraz.
Now under the guidance of the effervescent winemaker Corrina Wright, these grapes are being showcased in the Oliver’s Taranga wine range. Corrina is fast earning the reputation for producing ultra-premium age worthy wines. Corrina is also gaining great recognition for her leading role in the “Women in Wine” movement.
Oliver’s Taranga has built it’s reputation on the back of the premium red grapes it grows. And the rich red wines it produces. The family is now engaged in the development of the new Mediterranean varieties and the wines they produce. These varieties are perfectly suited to the climate and soils in McLaren Vale. As a result, they are becoming a defining feature of the McLaren Vale region.
While working with these new varieties, Corrina still wants to ensure that all the wines reflect the unique character of the Taranga Vineyard. The Oliver’s Taranga Tempranillo is one such wine that encapsulates these characteristics.
