Wine Notes | "The Lane Beginning Chardonnay is fermented in new and seasoned French oak and left to do its own thing. Refined, racy and delicately textured white peach, fig and warm brioche flow across the palate. This is the delicious style of Chardonnay that we love to drink. Kalleske Moppa Shiraz is rich and flavoursome. The tannin profile is superb, fine grained but fleshy adding texture and definition. Complex and well balanced with fruit at the fore, oak in support and a very lengthy finish. An expressive Shiraz that can be enjoyed now or will cellar well in the medium to long term. " |

Two quintessential varietals from Australia. Being a cool climate charonnay, The Lane has bright stonefuit with just a hint of oak. Moppa Shiraz is deep and rich with layers of spice.

“After 15 years at The Lane Vineyard, Helen and John Edwards, and sons Marty and Ben, took an important step towards realising their long-held dream – to grow. This was to make and sell estate-based wines that have a true sense of place. In 2005 they commissioned a state-of-the-art 500-tonne winery, bistro and cellar door overlooking their vineyards on picturesque Ravenswood Lane.
In South Australia’s Barossa Valley, the Kalleske family have been farming and growing grapes since 1853 near the village of Greenock. They are one of the region’s leading grape growing families and part of the selected few that were chosen to provide grapes for the world renowned Penfold’s Grange. Seventh generation brothers, Troy and Tony established the winery in 2002 which is now certified as an organic and biodynamic producer.”
