Wine Notes | 2011 Grande Vintage Brut, a 50/50 blend of Pinot Noir & Chardonnay. An epic wine with 10 years on lees, providing valuable time for the wine to rest and mature constructing complexity and pomp! Layered with nutty, mealy savouriness with fruitlets of cherry and strawberry combining on the palate. Only made in exceptional vintages, they are drier, more refined and complex than the non-vintage brut. |

A journey spanning centuries, the Lubiana family’s winemaking legacy began in Italy in the 1800s. Steve Lubiana started his wine journey in Australia following his father Mario who originally grew grapes in South Australia. Steve and his son Marco our now a proud fifth and sixth generation winegrowing family, having established a patch of vines on the special, north-facing site in Granton, Tasmania. Steve founded his acclaimed biodynamic wine label “Stefano Lubiana” in 1990 and has since become one of the most renowned winemakers in the region. They were Tasmania’s first certified biodynamic vineyard, and have been cultivating the vines using biodynamic methods since 2010. The wines exude Tasmania in its purest form – from its soil to your family table. Thier environmentally holistic practices and care for low-cropping Derwent River estate follows through to the winery with minimal intervention meeting modern techniques. Marco Lubiana is now continuing to build the reputation of the family winery while also creating very small batches of artisinal wine under his own label.
