Wine Notes | A lightish, fresh red produced from Clare Valley Sangiovese, Grenache, Sciacarello and Malbec. Sumptuous perfume of exotic spice, rose hip tea, dried berries. Similar to taste with crunchy texture, brisk acidity, lively fresh fruity feel and a cool restraint and chew to finish. Absolutely smashable wine on it's own or paired with gamey dishes. |

Koerner Wines
Koerner Wine is a partnership between brothers Damon and Jonathan Koerner. The wines are produced from fruit grown in the Watervale area of the Clare Valley, with the majority coming from the family vineyard. Gullyview vineyard has been owned and managed by their parents, (Christine & Anthony Koerner), for the past 38 years. The Koerner La Korse is a tribute to the traditional varieties grown in the area with a touch of the new wave varieties now prevalent.
The winemaking philosophy is very simple – that is the wines are made in the vineyard. The Koerner’s pick early and use very hands-off winemaking techniques. As a result, the wines are light, fresh, textured and well-structured with high drinkability in mind.
The Koerner brothers truly bridge the gap between tradition and the natural wine movement. There is a family heritage with the fruit coming from well established 40 year old family owned vineyards. However, experimentation with plantings of some more adventurous Mediterranean varieties has bolstered this in recent times. The fruit is treated with minimal intervention, thus creating a new genre of wines not seen from the Clare Valley before.
