Wine Notes | Light, juicy, refreshing Pinot Noir from the cooler climate of the Adeleide hills in South Australia. Unfined, unfiltered and fermented with only natural yeast. The minimal intervention allows the purity of fruit to shine through, packed with raspberries, strawberries and blueberries underpinned by a layer of earthiness. Peking Duck is a must. |

Koerner Wine is a partnership between brothers Damon and Jonathan Koerner. The wines are produced from fruit grown in the Watervale area of the Clare Valley and Adelaide Hills, with the majority coming from the family vineyard. Gullyview vineyard has been owned and managed by their parents, (Christine & Anthony Koerner), for the past 38 years. The Brothers Koerner Pinot is part of the new breed of wines coming from the talented duo.
The winemaking philosophy is very simple – that is the wines are made in the vineyard. The Koerner’s pick early and use very hands-off winemaking techniques. As a result, the wines are light, fresh, textured and well-structured with high drinkability in mind.
The Koerner brothers truly bridge the gap between tradition and the natural wine movement. There is a family heritage with the fruit coming from well established 40 year old family owned vineyards. However, experimentation with plantings of some more adventurous Mediterranean varieties has bolstered this in recent times. The fruit is treated with minimal intervention, thus creating a new genre of wines not seen from the Clare Valley before.
