Wine notes | Ripe red cherry and redcurrants are intertwined with aromas of rhubarb, kirsch, Turkish delight and subtle notes of cedar and white pepper. The palate is multi-layered with complex flavours: red fruits, cedar, spices, hints of vanilla and cinnamon. A truly sensual wine; plush with sleek tannins and generous through to the finish. Perhaps a little Peking duck and pancakes. |

Powell & Son
Powell & Son is a relatively new wine brand and is the brain child of a man with an incredible reputation – Dave Powell. Over the years Dave has worked at iconic wineries such as Rockford in the heart of the Barossa. Dave’s passion lay in the vineyards where he procured fruit in lieu of payment in the early days. Subsequently, Dave was able to establish Torbreck. It soon became a cult winery from the Barossa Valley, especially in international circles.
Dave Powell has now partnered with his son Callum on this new venture. Powell & Son are now crafting exceptional wines from premium vineyards in the Barossa and Eden Valley, Australia. They employ traditional, minimalist wine making techniques. The inspiration for this style of wine making has its roots in France’s Rhone Valley. Powell & Son red wines are made from the classic Rhone varietals: Shiraz, Grenache and Mataro and its whites: Roussanne, Marsanne as well as Eden Valley Riesling. Great wine begin in the vineyard is the philosophy that Powell & Son has been built on. The wines all speak of the place where grown. Powell & Son Brennecke Grenache is therefore no exception.
Over the years, Dave Powell has created wines of such quality as to earn him the perfect score of 100 points from Wine Advocate. International wine critics have also provided high acclaim for these wines . Powell & Son Brennecke Grenache is an ultra premium expression of what can be achieved from 120 year old vines in the Barossa, South Australia.
